Container Management & IT-Platform, RheinPorts

As the southern Upper Rhine is the turning point for the upstream container vessels, most of the RheinPorts terminals are affected by severe congestion and peak load problems. This mainly applies to the availability of sufficient quay capacity, especially on Friday as a peak day. Therefore, RheinPorts worked on the implementation of a joint manage-ment system between the three RheinPorts partners Basel-Mulhouse-Weil in the container segment. Regardless the need to develop additional infrastructure capacities for the region, concepts for a more efficient capacity allocation seem to be an appropriate solution without large investments. As a key instrument the specification for an IT-platform was developed.
